An Michiels is an internationally recognised AgTech innovation expert and the Founder of AgKnowledge, a global AgTech consultancy firm. She is an inspirational leader with a strong international network and over 15 years of experience leading teams and driving innovation across the AgTech industry.

An has advised numerous startups, served on advisory boards, and held director-level roles at major international seed, technology, and agribusiness companies, including Bayer Crop Science, Limagrain, and Syngenta. She has also collaborated with industry leaders such as PepsiCo, Barry Callebaut, KWS, BASF, and Mitsui.

Throughout her career, An has worked across industry, academia and governmental organisations to develop and implement forward-looking AgTech innovation initiatives. Her areas of expertise include crop production, automation, seed development, biologicals, vertical farming, gene editing, and trait development.

An has a proven entrepreneurial track record, having successfully founded and served as CEO of an AgTech company in the United States. She grew up on a family-owned tomato greenhouse farm in Belgium and holds both a Master’s degree and a PhD in Applied Bioengineering from the University of Leuven.
