An Michiels is an internationally recognized AgTech innovation expert and Founder of AgKnowledge, a global AgTech consultancy firm. An is an inspirational leader with solid network and 15 years of experience in leading teams in the Ag Tech industry. She has been instrumental in advising startups, served on advisory board and has held director level roles for large international Seed , Technology and Agribusiness companies such as Bayer Crop Science, Limagrain and Syngenta. She has collaborated with industry leaders like PepsiCo, Callebaut, KWS, BASF and Mitsui.

She has worked for industry, universities and (non) governmental organisations to develop and implement forward-looking initiatives in AgTech innovation. Areas of expertise are crop production, automation, seed development, biologicals, vertical farming, gene editing and trait development. Proven success as CEO starting a AgTech company in the United States. A grew up on a family tomato greenhouse farm in Belgium and has a Master and PhD from the University of Leuven in Applied Bioengineering.
